We enjoyed our stay so much that we came back for a second stay during our Galapagos trip, and we're already planning to return. The street is quiet, and it's only a few minutes from the airport and a short walk into town. They have family rooms and a guest kitchen with a fridge. Keep food off the counter, though, or tiny ants will find it. There's also a free water dispenser near the rooms. Breakfast was outstanding, with lots of variety and care. Ivan can prepare gluten-free options if you ask, and I can't praise him enough. One thing to know is that there are stairs. The terrace with hammocks is on one building's rooftop, while the family rooms are in another building. It wasn't a problem for us, and our children loved going up and down, but it could be an issue for someone less able-bodied.

The owner and manager was friendly, kind and full of useful information. Breakfast was delicious and made to suit our requests, and guests can use the shared fridge, toaster, microwave and stove. The room was very clean and serviced every day, with lots of fresh water from the shower. It was spacious and sunny, and the mattress was firm and comfortable. We expected to stay a couple of days but ended up there for over a week. The top-floor views of the port were lovely, and the sunset could be spectacular. Thank you so much!

The beds were comfortable, the room was fantastic, and we felt safe and at home. Trudy and Ivan were so welcoming and did everything they could to make our stay easy. They shared lots of helpful advice for free and even helped us organize excursions. We had a great time, learned a lot about the local wildlife and the best places to visit, and would recommend them 100% to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay. The top balcony has hammocks and panoramic views across San Cristobal.

Ivan and Trudy made me feel so welcome. Ivan helped me organize activities and even taught me a few more Spanish words. Breakfast on the terrace was great each morning. I booked a three-person room with a queen bed, a single bed and a private bathroom for a great price. It was clean and tidied every day. Some mornings were a bit noisy because of the roosters and dogs, and the windows were set quite high and couldn't be closed. They also let very little natural light into the room. Hostel Cattleya was a wonderful place, and I'd definitely stay again.

The owners were the best part for me, super friendly and happy to share what they know. Ask them about the local species, marine life, places to visit or recommended services, they know just about anything. Thanks, Ivan, for all the great talks despite my limited Spanish! The rooms were nice and super clean, with a spacious common area. Water, tea and coffee were available all the time. Getting a good, healthy breakfast at a hostel in Galapagos is rare, and they had one here. One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. I'll be back 😄❤️
