Grand Hotel Lobo de Mar

The staff were really friendly, and the included breakfast was good. My room was spacious and comfortable, with a nice little balcony. Wi-Fi worked well, though only in the shared area on the first floor. Everything was an easy walk away. I enjoyed my three-night stay and would happily come back.

The view from my room was breathtaking, right over the ocean from the heart of Santa Cruz. My room was clean, spacious, and nice, and the staff were friendly and receptive. There's a small pool in the lobby where I dipped my feet and spent some downtime in the lounge. I had a wonderful stay and would come back if I visit Galapagos again.

This is a handy base, with Santa Cruz's main street right outside. There's not much atmosphere, but I don't think you'd want to spend much time at the hotel anyway. The buffet breakfast was decent, and the staff were friendly. I've stayed twice: one newer room had a great split system air conditioner, while the older room's window unit was so loud it interrupted my sleep and was hard to adjust. Some rooms have amazing views, others less so.

They made us breakfast early one morning before our tours, which was really nice. This is a solid, typical three-star hotel in the middle of Santa Cruz, close to everything. Just be ready to carry your luggage up the stairs, since the elevator isn't a hotel.
