Hotel Brisas Del Pacifico

The staff were extremely courteous and the service was great, and the bedrooms were spacious with nice showers. But I had a window looking inward at nothing, and the room smelled like a toilet, as if there were plumbing trouble or someone had left a mess somewhere. The whole floor also smelled of bug spray, which bothered me. It looked clean, but the odors were alarming enough that I don't think I'd stay here again. I stayed while visiting Santa Cruz and wanted to share what I noticed.

It was cheap and well located, about a 5 minute walk from the main tourist area, so being slightly outside it wasn't really a problem. The rooms were okay, but outside noise made it hard to sleep at times. Our window faced the hallway, so we kept the curtains drawn the whole stay for privacy.

The room was spacious and very clean, and the A/C was icy cold, which was essential. There were water dispensers for filling bottles, and the place was close to Baltra Ave and an easy walk to the docks. We stayed only one night after arriving on Santa Cruz, before taking the ferry to Isabela. The windows were strange: one large one faced the adjacent building's wall, and the other looked into the hall, so neither brought in any natural light. I had to leave at 6am for the morning ferry. The whole hotel was dark, so I used my phone flashlight, and no one was at reception. I had to call out until a man came from a room behind the desk. You're basically locked in, since he had to unlock the doors for me. I'm not sure how safe that is. For a single night, especially at that price, I wouldn't be sure to recommend it. It might suit a few people staying several days, though, since the room was large and had a sofa and mini-fridge.

The place had a strange vibe and smell, and didn't feel clean. It's a weird hotel in a local neighborhood, though not very far from the tourist center. I stayed just one night. The shower curtain was held up with electrical wire.
