Breakfast was fresh and wonderful every morning. Ivan was especially sweet and helpful, and the rest of the staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms are simple and clean, with eco-friendly touches like heated rain water showers and biodegradable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. For wetsuits or snorkel gear, the place next door has much better quality for the same price. The water is colder than you'd think, so ask for at least a 3mm wetsuit. I had a shorty and regretted not getting a full-length one.

Breakfast is included, and restaurants and shops are just a five-minute walk away. The rooms are small but have what you need, and mine was clean. If you're looking for a concierge, there isn't one, so I'd recommend getting a travel book for the Galapagos. One thing to know: rooms beside the pool get loud, since they play music until 9pm. Say hi to the friendly cat by the pool!

It's about a ten-minute walk to the coast, and the staff were nice. The breakfast was okay, and you can order fresh eggs if you notice the sign advertising them. It felt more like a hostal than a hotel. We were downstairs and heard quite a lot from other guests and the hotel next door. There are some unusual rules for using the room, and checkout is early, at 9am.

The room was adequate, but there was nowhere for our suitcases except the floor. Breakfast wasn't great: not much hot food, bread with just two sweet spreads, juice, and tea or coffee. The waffles were a bit hard. Also, the pool in the picture actually belongs to the bar next door, not the hotel.

The location is the strongest point, just a short walk from the beach. I also liked the folded swan towels in the room. But the condition of some facilities and the service left me disappointed. At Galapagos Planet Hotel, I hurt my hand on a poorly made bathroom fixture. I was feeling motion sick and sat down quickly. When I stood, the light plastic toilet seat snapped back and hit my hand hard enough to make it swell and limit movement in my thumb, like a sprain. That made me question the durability of guest amenities and the way hotels on the tour are vetted. The pool also had missing tiles and looked neglected. After housekeeping had finished, I found a dead bug on the bedroom floor, which made me question the cleanliness. When I accidentally locked myself out, a staff member looked disapproving and muttered something in Spanish that seemed dismissive. It felt unprofessional and discouraging. The shower temperature was also difficult to get right, and it was often too cold. The convenient location couldn't make up for the staff attitude and the quality of some amenities.
