I ended up staying an extra night in the Galapagos on a whim, and this hotel was a much better deal than the pricier place I'd been at across town. The owner, an older local woman I'd seen in the foyer the day before, came over for a chat using Google Translate. That personal touch was lovely. Breakfast tasted good, and I could watch sea lions and people while eating. The location is hard to beat, between the main pier and Playa Mann, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. My room looked out over the ocean, so I could relax and watch the sea lions. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. At check-in, the clerk explained the after-hours lock and texted me the number to make sure I had it right. I saw a few tiny ants in the bathroom, but that wasn't unusual for the Galapagos. The same goes for shower temperature complaints. In fact, this was one of the few places I stayed in the islands that had hot water at all. The hairdryer worked well, too. The other hotel I used on San Cristobel had no hot water or hairdryer, and had palm-sized cockroaches and ants.

The location is fantastic, right by the water where breakfast is served. Staff were welcoming and went out of their way to help with our luggage. The rooms are basic but clean, and everything worked. Breakfast was okay, and they can put together a simple breakfast pack if you're leaving on a trip before service starts, which was a nice touch.

The juice was watery and tasteless, and the coffee was awful, basically hot water that left a bad taste. We paid full price for both and wouldn't recommend the cafe downstairs. From earlier reviews, it seems they haven't been willing to change. I wish we'd checked first. If you love coffee, go to RANTI. Delicious!

For $170 a night, this was ridiculous. The rooms are extremely basic, and the shower kept swinging from freezing to scalding with no way to get it steady. Breakfast starts at 7, after the tours leave, so they made us a box. The sandwich had sat out overnight on the counter and didn't seem safe to eat by morning. They also never asked about dietary restrictions. We left our bags there, but nobody was around in the morning to confirm they'd be stored securely. I called and messaged the number without getting an answer, so we worried all day. When we got back, staff said storage cost $5. I refused, and she said, “Really? It’s just 5 dollars.” I rarely leave bad reviews, but this felt worth mentioning. All of it might have been acceptable at half the price. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

The location was the one good thing. We stayed for three nights, and the staff didn't feel very friendly or welcoming. They don't speak much English, which might explain it. The front desk lady gave us incorrect instructions for the door, and it was a problem trying to get out and back in at night. Honestly, it felt more like a hostel, and I don't see why they call it a hotel.
