Hernan arranged an in-hotel massage for us, a lovely way to finish the stay. He also planned a private-paced trip to Otavalo and nearby areas when the altitude had left us less energetic than usual. We could do as much or as little as we wanted, and he helped us discover restaurants we might have missed, as well as Fundacion Guayasamin and its extensive collection by Oswaldo Guayasamín. The breakfasts were a highlight too. Hernan usually prepared traditional Ecuadorean dishes, explained their cultural background, and served them beautifully. We looked forward to seeing what was on the menu each morning. He paid close attention to our comfort and interests throughout. Hotel Casa Ecuatreasures felt like home, only better, over the Christmas holidays. It’s a cozy, thoughtfully decorated place in the historic center, a few blocks from the Basilica, Plaza Grande, and Plaza San Francisco. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants, bakeries, shops, and cultural spots close by.

Hernan was the real standout for us. He’s warm, knows Quito well, and was keen to help us make the most of the city. The local breakfasts with fresh fruit juice were really nice too. Hotel Casa Ecuatreasures is in a handy spot for exploring the old town on foot, with the basilica, plazas, restaurants, and shops all easy to reach. A wonderful stay.

Hernan helped us sort out guides and plan day trips, and the hotel was clean and well located. Each morning brought a different Ecuadorian breakfast with fresh local juice. They also accommodated our dietary restriction.

We had a private driver and car, which made it easy to explore at our own pace, and Harnan helped put together tours around what we were interested in. They also arranged custom massages inspired by ancient Andean rituals, which left us relaxed. The meals were a real treat, with lots of local ingredients and flavors. The restored historic building has a lovely open courtyard and modern comforts, and the main sights in the historic district are walkable from Hotel Casa Ecuatreasures Centro Histórico. Even before we arrived, Harnan got in touch to understand our preferences. The care and attention were exceptional, and the place blends its historic feel with comfort so well. I’d give it 10 out of 5 stars if I could, and would highly recommend it.
