The rooms are roomy, the Wi-Fi is good, and they clean every day and replace the towels. Breakfast is continental, and the reception staff are helpful. There’s also a black dog there to greet you. The big problem is the lack of backup power. Quito has frequent outages, and when the electricity goes out, nothing in the hotel works: no Wi-Fi, no way to charge your phone, no hot water, and total darkness. Owner Marcol should invest in a backup supply.

Casa Carrion was a lovely place to spend three days of our vacation. The staff were warm, kind, and attentive, and even helped us arrange reliable transport for the next leg of our trip. Our room was spacious, with a large bathroom, and was cleaned daily. The property has all the comforts we needed, including laundry service. It’s in a convenient area with what you need nearby and good public and private transport links. I’d highly recommend it.

We came with a team of Swiss researchers for a study, and the staff took such good care of us. They were attentive and helpful throughout. The place itself is wonderful, and the restaurant food was especially good. Highly recommended.
