Casa Q

I kept coming back for three weekends, which says a lot about how much I liked this place. The neighborhood feels like the best and safest in Quito, with Carolina Park and the Metro close by, plus a stylish outdoor food court just around the corner. The price is hard to beat for this area, and it works well for solo travelers or anyone with a busy schedule. The rooms are simple and clean, with great windows and views, though they feel a bit like a dorm and aren't especially romantic or luxurious. The shower is small, but the tankless heater gives strong pressure and endless hot water, the best I've had in Central or South America. Bring a fan since there's no AC. Breakfast is available, though $7 felt a little steep for what you get. I also had guests join me for breakfast, and the convenient street parking made that easy. One drawback for remote work: the internet is great, but the room echoes on Zoom calls.

The rooms and windows are nice, and the location is great. The showers are quite small, though, and the bars across the street can make nights noisy.

The view is stunning, and the staff are friendly and provide great service. Hotel Casa Q has a gorgeous boutique feel in a great location. My room was clean, comfortable, and had amenities, with no odors or bed bugs. It suited a solo traveler or couple, though I wouldn't suggest it for a family. I enjoyed my stay and would come back. We didn't feel secure with only a knob lock on the door. After a drunk couple tried to enter our room at 0430, we barricaded it every night. The walls are extremely thin, and other guests can be very rowdy. Also, the reservation said breakfast was included, but they charged $7 per night, per person. Just be warned. You get what you pay for.
