L'AUBERGE INN - Hostel

If you want a quiet night's sleep, this place is a good choice. They make a point of keeping things peaceful, and it's very quiet at night. There's also a lovely courtyard, comfortable beds, nice rooms, and great service, all at a hard-to-beat price. It's not especially social, though, so you may be less likely to meet people. If you're after that, a party hostel would suit you better.

The courtyard makes a pleasant, quiet retreat from Quito's noise, and the location is handy for exploring both sides of the city. My en-suite room was a good size, cosy, and kept very clean, with a really comfortable bed. Carlos was kind and friendly even though I don't speak Spanish well. Breakfast costs a little extra, and it's simple but made with good, fresh ingredients.

Carlos was running the hotel during our visit, and he was so sweet, welcoming, and friendly. The place was clean, calm, and safe, with a lovely patio to spend time in. The location was okay, though not ideal. We don't speak Spanish, and even though the website says English is spoken, we couldn't get information about the city or public transport. Since Quito was our first stop in Ecuador, that would have helped a lot. Breakfast was good, but the other food was a bit disappointing for the prices. The menu's restaurant prices also seemed out of date, so we were charged more than expected. After a brief discussion, we didn't have to pay the extra, but it was still unpleasant since it wasn't our mistake.

We paid $23/n for 3 nights, and the place was cute and really affordable. Breakfast is $4 for all you can eat, and it was healthy and delicious. They let 7s check in an hour early. We took the bus from the airport for 2.50$, and it took about an hour. A taxi would have been around 25$.
