Embassy Quito Hotel

The room had a heater, and with the elevator and good facilities, the hotel was comfortable and not cold. It's in a safe spot by Plaza Foch, with lots of nearby places to eat. One drawback was that breakfast wasn't included in the rate. Even though it was listed as an orbitz Expedia VIP access hotel, they didn't give me free breakfast for my platinum status. Still, a good hotel in Quito.

I found the hotel itself very clean and comfortable, and the staff kept the breakfast area bright and cheerful, with good quality and plenty of choice. They were on hand to keep everything replenished. My room was small by US standards, but well maintained, and the WiFi was easy to use and fast enough to be useful. For the price, this older hotel felt like a bargain. It's only a few blocks from the popular nightlife in the Mariscal Sucre neighborhood. One thing I wish I'd known sooner: bottled water is recommended, and the room only had one bottle. I finished it quickly, then realized there are water coolers on the landings between floors where you can refill it. If you want to explore on foot in the morning, the immediate area can be a little disappointing. With the night spots closed, there wasn't much to see as people headed off to work. It seemed perfectly safe, though. I saw families with children and women walking alone.

We got here Wednesday night and have really enjoyed the fresh, delicious breakfast and very comfortable beds. The customer service has been among the best I've experienced in Ecuador. Javier was a great waiter and clearly cared about taking good care of customers. We'll definitely come back.

They have space for holding a small event, and the breakfast is delicious. The beds are comfortable too. Service was okay, though I think this place is a bit expensive.
