The breakfast was delicious, with fruit, fresh juice, coffee or tea, bread, and eggs, and they offer laundry service at a decent price. We stayed six days and found the beds and pillows very comfortable. The hostal was clean and brightly decorated, and the price was good for what you get. Room setups varied: one companion had a small room without windows, two others shared a two-bed room whose window faced another room's window, and I had a two-bed room with a balcony. There are no hotel-style extras like an iron and ironing board or hair dryer, and none of the rooms has AC or a fan. La Ronda is a handy spot near restaurants and nightlife, though it can be noisy. It's also beside a busy avenue, so buses and taxis are easy to catch.

I've been back to Casa Sol four times, staying several days each visit, so I've gotten to know it pretty well. The rooms are spotless and have the basics, and the hot water is dependable. Staff are friendly and helpful. I think they speak English, though I usually talk with them in Spanish. Breakfast comes with the stay and usually has fresh juice, bread, fruit, and coffee. My only gripe is that the wifi is meant for the common areas, so it doesn't work very well in the rooms.

It's a trendy neighborhood, and the staff are very helpful. The place attracts lots of foreign visitors and has a backpacker-hotel feel, plus a collection of books in English. It's not Quito's cheapest stay, but the price feels worthwhile.

Nothing fancy, but we found it clean and welcoming, with a fair price and a good central location. The barrio is known for nightlife and can be a bit noisy, though that didn't affect us.

A pretty shiny place to stay in Quito, Ecuador. They also have a sister hotel in Otavalo, a beautiful spot in a eucalyptus forest near a lovely waterfall.
