***Luxury Suite Edificio Avadell- Bellavista-Quito

The sign is tucked out of the way, so the hotel was hard to find. Once there, we had a great stay: helpful staff, fast Wi-Fi, an impeccable room view, comfortable beds, warm shower water, and a desk to work at. Since our flight wasn't until later that evening, they let us leave our bags there after late checkout. A few restaurants and farmacias are about a seven-minute walk down a steep hill, while some excellent restaurants are a ten-minute cab ride away. There's also a restaurant downstairs serving breakfast and lunch.

The hotel is peaceful, with good breakfast, and the owner attends to guests' requests. Free parking is available, which makes it perfect if you have a rental car. It sits on a hill, though, and walking up can be a bit exhausting.

The hotel insisted on immediate credit card payment by DM, which would bypass the booking site's cancellation option and policy. When I refused, they rejected the card. It had worked perfectly before, and after this hotel turned it down, it also worked perfectly at the better alternative I found.

There was no hot water.
