I really enjoyed the stay. The room was good, and I got a warm welcome well after midnight. The continental breakfast was served with a nice touch. There are good restaurants, services, and shops within walking distance. At night the neighborhood is lively, though sound carries up to the room well after 2 a.m. Insulated windows might help with that. I'm giving four stars because I wondered if there was discrimination: I was asked to pay cash on arrival, although I'd planned to use a credit card. Fortunately, I had the $111.76, which left me with just $5 for a taxi until I found an ATM two days later. Later that day I learned both my colleagues had paid by credit card the day before, as expected. That saddened me.

Alberto and Helena, the owners, were wonderful and took great care of their guests. The place is lovely, classy, and well furnished, with an amazing view over Quito.

The host was warm, knew the area well, and was very accommodating. The place was super clean and cozy, and we had a great stay.

There was little privacy because the host was constantly supervising, and the facilities didn't make for a comfortable stay. The internet was poor, and breakfast wasn't what the photos suggested. Eggs cost an extra $5.00 per day. The rooms are next to each other, and in our case a guest with a small child kept us from sleeping well. For the same or less money in Quito, you can get a studio or furnished apartment with privacy, good service, and very friendly hosts. I'd recommend Mini Suites Hotel Clifford 2, near El Salvador Avenue, where you can walk along a long stretch of restaurants.

The view was spectacular, and breakfast was delicious. My room was clean and comfortable, the location was great, and Elena and Alberto were exceptional hosts.
