What a beautiful, welcoming experience! My bed was so cozy, and the staff were incredibly kind and fun to talk with. Mil gracias 🫶🏼

The hostel was pretty quiet while my friend and I were there, so the manager gave us a private room upgrade at no extra cost. When we reported that the shower had no hot water, they fixed it right away. Some staff don't speak English, which is completely normal in a Spanish-speaking country, and you can communicate in other ways. The staff did their best to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed three nights and had a great trip. Quito is a lovely city with plenty to do, and the hostel is well placed right beside the historic center. They offer free walking tours and other activities. The Secret Garden Quito is around the corner and popular with backpackers if you're looking for a more social scene. Vibes was the more peaceful place to stay. Quito is recovering from a drop in tourism, and it seems like many places are still rebuilding as visitors return.

The common areas and accommodation were lovely and clean, and we liked that it wasn't as busy as nearby hostels. We were there just two nights. Breakfast was good overall, though we weren't keen on the included coffee. For the price, it's still great value. Most of the staff were very attentive and helpful, and I'd definitely recommend staying here. Rooms can be noisy in the morning and evening, which you'd expect from such a central spot.

We spent almost a week here with a friend and loved the atmosphere. The hostel is very well located, close to the historic center. The rooftop view is outstanding, and there's billiards too. Most rooms have just two beds, so they don't get crowded.

The room was fairly clean, but it felt depressing, and my bed squeaked so badly I slept terribly. The hot shower was the only good thing. The hostel felt empty and sad, with almost no guests. The main entrance was shut, and there was nobody to welcome me. Because of the power cuts, I had to call an Ecuadorian number, and the man sounded really annoyed to be called. Only the owner spoke English. He was mean, unprofessional, and dishonest. Luckily, I speak Spanish. The WiFi worked only half the time, even when there was power. Other little things made me uncomfortable. I heard a couple having sex for hours on the first night. That's nobody's fault, but it was awful. For the first two days, the breakfast juice stung my tongue, so I didn't drink it. The last two days it was fine, though it was the same flavor. They gave me a candle but nothing to hold it. The eggs were too salty, the jam was the same every day, and the volunteer serving me was trying her best but forgot things every single day. I saw a price of $12 on the website. When I tried to pay, three times, they weren't ready, and then they told me it was $17. I challenged that, and the owner immediately called the police. In the end, I realized I'd made a mistake, but he was so mean and lied to the police. He even said I'd threatened him, which made the policeman laugh. If I hadn't mistakenly thought it was cheap, I'd have left the first day. There are tons of small issues, and they just don't seem professional or like they care, doing the bare minimum. Honestly, don't go. This place doesn't deserve to stay open; nothing about it was good.
