The gardens were beautiful, and we especially enjoyed the mix of comfort and old-world character. We appreciated being able to bring our pets. The antique furnishings and colonial charm, along with the hotel’s distinctive historical setting, made our stay feel special.

We had dinner at the restaurant both nights and enjoyed it each time, with fresh ingredients, tasty food, and a lovely atmosphere. Afterwards, we warmed up beside the fire near the bar, then played a few games of billiards in the game room. That was a fun surprise. The grounds were memorable too: we saw llamas and rabbits, and walking through the gardens among the Andes felt like stepping into the past. At Hostería La Andaluza, the staff were attentive and welcoming from the start, and everyone made us feel at home. The historic property is beautiful, with well-preserved Ecuadorian decor, cozy places to sit, and a timeless feel throughout. It all felt peaceful, cared for, and authentic. We can’t wait to return, and would recommend it to anyone traveling through Ecuador’s highlands. It’s a destination in itself.

The staff are always on top of things. The building is fun to explore, and I really like the decor. Nice place, good food, and a lovely view of Chimborazo.

We booked for a wedding in November, but it was cancelled because it fell on the days when drinking is prohibited ahead of Ecuador’s referendum and voting. They won’t refund our money and have offered to move the date instead. Since I’m visiting Ecuador, changing dates isn’t an option for me. With this kind of customer service, I’d rather not spend my time there anyway.

The guide was amazing and explained everything in great detail, and the staff were very attentive. I loved the atmosphere, with old objects throughout the hotel and rooms like Simón Bolívar’s room. It’s full of antiques and has a lot of historical significance, and the spa looked gorgeous too. The food was just okay. I ordered the meat on the volcanic rock, but the rock wasn’t hot enough to cook the meat properly.
