Hotel Zaracay

The location is very busy, but the rooms are far back on the property, so they’re quiet and peaceful. The gardens and buildings are beautiful, and both staff and management were very kind and friendly. The fresh breakfast buffet had plenty of variety, and lunch was delicious. They can accommodate vegetarians with their dishes. The outdoor pool could be better, it’s slippery and awkwardly built.

I stopped at this well-known, very old hotel for a really good lunch. My steak took a while to cook, but came out almost perfect. It has a long history of good service. Whenever I eat lunch here, we’re the only ones being served.

The room was clean and adequate, with hot water and a clean bathroom. The breakfast buffet was very good, but they set it up half an hour late. They were trying hard, though there seemed to be very little management, and the place looked a bit run down.

The rooms were quite big and the staff were friendly, though I was ignored at checkout while the guy was on the phone with some service personnel. Breakfast was just okay. And that’s about it. A pool outside doesn’t make this a four-star hotel. The rest of the place was seriously run down.
