The main issue was the noise when ferry traffic starts before 6 am. The hostel sits on the main road to the ferry and doesn't block much sound from outside. The bar across the street mentioned in an older review is gone, though, so its music wasn't a problem for us. Light sleepers may want earplugs, but I'd still recommend staying here on Isabela Island. Our room was very clean, the bed was firm but comfortable, and the air conditioning was quiet and worked well. The shower had strong pressure and plenty of very hot water. Staff were extremely friendly and always ready to help. Breakfast cost an extra $5 and was delicious: fruit, toast with butter and jam, scrambled eggs, and coffee or tea.

We arrived to find the hostel in the middle of renovations, with no warning beforehand. The whole place was a construction site, messy and smelling of paint, and work noise began at 7 a.m. every day. Our room was smaller than the one we'd booked and dirty. They only cleaned it the next day, after we complained. The kitchenette was officially closed for the reconstruction and was opened only when we asked. Staff gave us no information about what was going on. A big disappointment and a very unprofessional approach. I wouldn't recommend it.

The kitchen was covered in ants and dead insects, and the fridge smelled from rotten vegetables and meat. I asked the staff five times to clean it, and they didn't care. The Wi-Fi didn't work, and there was no hot water in the showers. This was the worst hostel I've stayed at in South America. Do yourself a favor and don't come here.

Some rooms smelled, as other reviews have mentioned, but the place was kept meticulously clean and our room was spacious and bright. The staff were friendly and helpful. The internet was patchy while they were setting up a new Starlink, which made a big improvement. For the location, service, and price, it was worth it, and good value for the rooms.

It feels like home here, with spotless rooms and such lovely, friendly staff who are always happy to help. You're a minute from the beach and about a 10-minute walk from the ferry. There are lots of nice little breakfast places, and the farmers market runs every morning, so get there early. Tour operators are all around; we used Agora in the square, and they were highly professional too. Such a lovely community. I could live here.
