The rooms are simple, but the hosts made us feel welcome with their warmth and generosity. Lovely views, and it’s close to the city center.

We used the hotel as a break in the Loja - Cuenca bus trip. It felt a little pricey, though the view and atmosphere were great, and the service was really friendly. The person at reception was especially helpful when we checked out. Just be ready for the uphill climb from the village center.

The people running the place were wonderful, and breakfast was lovely: eggs, bread, fresh butter and jam, fresh juice, and great coffee. The walk into the central area of Saraguro is doable, but it’s downhill there and uphill on the way back. My room was quiet at night with earplugs in. The rooms are very basic, though the bed was comfy, and it’s a pretty spot to spend a couple of days.

We had a quiet room with plenty of space, and the breakfast area had a nice view. Breakfast itself was good too. I had no hot water for a shower, though. I rounded the rating up since 4.5 wasn’t an option. It worked well as a transition hotel before we headed up the mountain.

The rooms were clean, and the courtyard and grounds were beautiful. The hotel sits above town, so the walk is a bit of a climb, but the views and quieter surroundings make it worthwhile.
