The bedrooms were clean and had air conditioning, and the employees served me really well. I liked the hotel completely. It’s centrally located in Cairo, the staff were very skilled, and the price was only 18 dollars, which isn’t high. I stayed here on my Cairo trip in October 2014.

We were in transit and needed somewhere for just a few hours overnight, and our travel agent conned us into staying here. The lobby was full of smokers, and the rooms were filthy and awful. The linen smelled bad, and even after repeated requests and phone calls, nobody brought water when I needed it to take medicine. If you’re staying in this area, pay a few more dollars for a better room nearby. Just don’t choose this hotel.

The location was very good, the staff cheerful, and the price reasonable. My room had been freshly painted, and I stayed one night. It wasn’t very clean. The sheets and pillow covers were dirty, so I had to use my own, and the blankets were dusty. There wasn’t a single carpet, the furniture was basic, and there was no fridge or kettle. Street noise and daylight both came through the window because the curtains were useless. The bathroom was old, and the shower and other parts needed maintenance.

It’s right in the middle of Cairo, so you shouldn’t expect a quiet hotel. I also noticed that the air conditioner didn’t look like it was working properly, though I didn’t use the hotel WiFi. The curtains didn’t block outside light, and the room could use dark or black ones. Lighting was weak, and hot water wasn’t always available, which made it hard to feel comfortable. On the plus side, it’s central and makes exploring the city easy. I paid EGP500 per night for a double room, though I stayed alone, and that seemed fairly reasonable. There were some good points to the stay, but fixing these issues would make the experience better.

For about £15.00, this is great. It’s a family-run hotel in an old building, but it’s secure and safe, and the location is great. The staff are hospitable. The rooms are medium-sized, with ensuite bathrooms, WiFi, cable TV and room service. It has just been redecorated.
