Cosmopolitan Hotel

The food at the hotel was fantastic, and our room was always clean. We stayed six nights and were extremely satisfied. The location is perfect, and every staff member was exceptionally helpful and polite. Saeed Hasan was the best, and the receptionists helped us with everything, especially Omar. Sincere thanks to all the staff for giving us such wonderful days. I highly recommend it ❤️

The manager saw my review and asked me to edit it, so here's an update. The next room was better because the AC and shower head worked, but there were hairs on the floor, the door's lock chain was broken, and there were no towels. It also smelled as if smoke was seeping in. I arrived at 1am to a room without towels, with broken AC, bugs, a broken sink, and a shower head that didn't work. I managed to get the shower head going, but construction started very early, so I couldn't sleep properly. A kind housekeeper woke me by knocking, went downstairs, then called my room twice and asked me to switch rooms. I also found red dots on me that weren't there when I arrived. If you want a restful night, don't stay here.

You can get the basics here: a bed, hot water, and some breakfast. But it isn't a comfortable place, and the reality feels more like a three-star hotel, as the reception label says. Maybe this was a handsome building with fancy interiors 100 years ago. Now it's as dusty as the rest of the city.

Downtown Cairo is a perfect base for exploring the city, and the rooms were clean and tidy. I had an amazing three-night stay with my group of travellers, thanks to the kind staff and good breakfast. I'd definitely choose this hotel again if I came back to Cairo.
