Ahmed might play guitar if you ask, and he played some great Egyptian tunes and sang too! My friend and I mostly explored on foot, and we never had to walk too far to get where we wanted. It's also well placed, no more than a 30 minute taxi ride from the main sights. The hostel is well maintained, the beds are clean and comfortable, breakfast is amazing, and everyone is very kind.

Freedom hostel has a relaxed, quiet atmosphere, with comfortable beds and friendly staff. Shout out to Islam and the ladies working there. Breakfast was good, and it's conveniently close to lots of shops for food and other needs. Laundry is available at a very good price too. Highly recommend it as a place to stay in Cairo.

The place looked great and was clean everywhere, from the stairway and kitchen to the bathroom and rooms. I appreciated that a lot. The staff made it clear they cared about what I needed and helped me with several things, even buying my flight ticket out of Cairo. My first impression stayed with me right through the end of my stay. Freedom hostel is a great place to be.

Very kind staff, a spotless hostel, and a great location. The value for money is hard to beat. Just make sure you don't mistake it for the other hotel in the same building: Freedom Hostel is on the top floor, on the right.

It was fine, but they charged me for early check-in and wouldn't refund the nights. That's their policy, but as a returning guest I expected better. I won't be back.
