Hathor House

The hotel is on the second floor of a busy shopping street, and the staff are super friendly. We were told the other side looks onto a quieter street with a noisy bar, so we chose the side with car horns instead. You hear the usual Cairo traffic, honking from around 8:30 AM until 9:30-10:00 PM, but after a while it fades into the background. Breakfast was good enough, and the location worked well for us.

The staff were incredible. We arrived after 1 AM, and they came downstairs to meet our driver. The bed was comfortable, and the room had a mini fridge and a nice bathroom. It's a great spot in central Cairo, within walking distance of lots of restaurants and the downtown museum. I'd book here again in a heartbeat.

The breakfast was dull enough that I only had it once, with unsalted scrambled eggs and dry bread. The Wi-Fi wasn't great either, though they had several networks to switch to when one stopped working. Finding the hotel was tricky at first because it only occupies the third floor of a building it doesn't own. Still, it's really affordable, clean, and cozy, with air conditioning, and the location is super central. The staff were so nice. I usually don't like chatting with staff, and I kept my comments quick, but they always wished me a good trip and checked if they could help. I had a great stay and would love to come back.

Nadin and the front desk team were incredibly friendly and helpful, and Koko was a very knowledgeable tour guide. He’s someone I’d recommend for tours. We had a great first visit to Egypt thanks to Hathor House. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the hotel is centrally located, near public transport and lots of restaurants. The old Egyptian museum is also an easy walk away. I definitely recommend the hotel, and thank you Hathor House for making our Cairo visit such a positive experience.
