Velvet Hotel

The room was generally spacious and clean, but the sheets need checking. I saw hairs and moldy-looking stains on them. There isn't an elevator, so it's three flights of stairs.

The room was in terrible shape: the washroom lid was broken, water remained on the floor, and there was a constant foul smell. The fridge didn't work and smelled awful inside. Even the coffee sachets described as complimentary were added to the bill at checkout. Getting to the room was a struggle too. The entrance was filthy and neglected, and although there is a lift in the building, hotel guests can't use it. The stairs were broken, uneven, and frightening. I had to carry all my luggage up myself, with no staff member offering to help. The staff made this awful experience even worse. The receptionist initially agreed to one price, then demanded more at checkout. When I refused, another staff member who acted like a thug threatened to call the police and blamed the mistake on someone else. The rudeness and intimidation were shocking. This place felt unsafe and unsanitary, and I found the people running it unprofessional and deceitful. Avoid it. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

The photos bear little resemblance to what you get. The stairs, reception, and hall were dirty and badly maintained, and the room was worse. Its toilet is a makeshift setup inside the room, with no ventilation, and both the faucet and basin leaked. Cleanliness and decor were basically nonexistent. The furniture, mattress, and bedding were very old. Traffic noise outside will keep you awake, though. Stay away.

The room was small, and I got mosquito bites all night. There was noise too. The bathroom was tiny and some facilities didn't work. I booked through booking.com, but the hotel looked nothing like the pictures. I wouldn't stay somewhere like this again.
