Le Meridien Heliopolis

There are several restaurants at the hotel, and the food is good. The rooms are spacious, though you can see how old and dated the hotel is in them. Breakfast wasn't a very extensive spread. It's about 20 minutes from the airport, and the free shuttle is the best part.

The staff welcomed me very well, and the room was comfortable enough with all the modern conveniences. Be careful with valuables, even if you're stepping out only briefly. Breakfast is excellent, as long as you're not expecting a typical English breakfast.

The service was really nice, and the event hall was prepared very well. I attended an event there yesterday with breakfast and lunch; the food was just average, neither good nor bad. In the women's prayer room there was no Qibla direction, so we had to go out and ask someone. There was also a painting on the wall that felt out of place in a prayer room. The hall's AC was very cold, but when we switched it off, a really bad smell started coming out. I don't know if it was the carpets or something else, so we turned the AC back on. We found the location useful, though it isn't central, and Uber is very cheap. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and everything worked as promised. Staff were friendly, helpful, and available, and room service was quick, though I'd suggest eating out when you can. The pool was clean and very quiet. There's live music every night, but it doesn't seem to attract much of a crowd, I'll leave you to guess why. The decor feels like the 1970s, and the hotel could use renovation. It had what you'd expect from a five-star place, and I'd stay again.
