We had a great stay at museum studios. The apartment was extremely spacious, with a large room, bathroom, kitchen, and lounge. I loved the double-height ceilings, and the location suited us well. Street noise does carry inside, though we had the same issue at the Hilton Ramses, and I don’t think you can really escape it in the city center. One thing to know is that the entrance can be tricky to find. We’d been at hilton ramses beforehand and came over to locate the place, so it wasn’t a problem for us, but I can imagine it could be confusing. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to accommodate us.

A friend of mine is staying here, and I went to visit him. Someone from reception came up to the room and asked for my passport, saying I couldn’t visit unless I registered at reception. It was rude and upset both me and my friend. I’ll never stay somewhere that won’t let me have a visitor!

The studio was clean and roomy, with high ceilings, a big bathroom, and its own kitchen. The mattress and blankets, though, were worn, and the hand soap was so cheap I ended up using my own. The building itself is old and the elevator can be unreliable. It’s a suite at Tahrir Plaza, basically like the other reviews say, just with more space. For a three-star hotel in Egypt, this is probably about as good as it gets, though by worldwide standards I’d call it two stars.
