New Cairo Heart Hotel

I rented a single bedroom for 31 days and really liked it. The air conditioning was good, the price was good, and the location is strategic downtown, with a metro station not far away. The staff were hospitable and nice. I met Bola on my first day, but Michael was the best. Cairo, especially downtown, is noisy, so you have to be okay with that. The main street traffic is why I give the location a 3. Rooms get 4 and service gets 4. Very good place, I recommend it.

The rooms were filthy and smelled bad, and the bedsheets stank. The owner didn’t give us the room we booked. Worse than any lodge, the worst place I’ve stayed in my life. I’d booked 6 nights, but after arriving I had to cancel the rest and move elsewhere. I felt cheated.

I stayed 10 days. It was okay, I guess. The beds were fine and the staff were nice and respectful. The bathroom and shower are old-fashioned, but they work. I didn’t use breakfast, so I can’t say if it’s good. The Wi-Fi was very inconsistent and frustrating at times, though we were out often enough that it wasn’t a major issue. The location was very good, though you wouldn’t know it was a hotel from the outside. There’s an elevator up to the eighth floor, and the interior looks adequate. I got a lot of bites, probably from flies, but I always expected that. I’d recommend it if you’re on a budget. If you’ve got money to burn, try somewhere more comfortable. At least this hotel does the job.

I was shocked when I arrived after booking this hotel through Booking.com. It was very bad, and the review had misled me. Booking.com shouldn’t show a rating based on just one person. Ratings need to be considered more carefully because people rely on the site.
