Paris Hostel

The staff were friendly enough, offered coffee, and served a pretty nice breakfast. We stayed the one night we’d paid for, then cancelled the rest. The walls were crumbling, and the bathroom was like a closet with no ceiling, a door that wouldn’t close, and the toilet, shower, and sink crammed together. You have to see it to believe it. There’s a common room, but staff are in there about 80% of the time, so it’s hard to use. The wifi barely worked in our room, like a dial-up phone modem. The photos don’t match: there’s no pool and no carpeted room. The red room is real, though, they’re all red. 😳

Walid and the helpful assistant, Saoedi, gave me a warm welcome when I arrived in the late afternoon. They both speak English very clearly, which is a big help when you’re arriving in Caïro for the first time. They also shared loads of useful information about the city, how to act on the streets, and things to do. My single room was fantastic: quiet and clean, with a large bathroom, rain shower, warm water, toilet, and a good bed. The mattress was excellent for my back and bones. There was plenty of furniture and room for clothes, shoes, my laptop, tablet, souvenirs, and more. Good wifi and enough sockets for charging electronics. Breakfast was perfect. I’d absolutely recommend this hotel, it’s better than many European 4 star hotels. There’s also a nice balcony view over Talaat Harb, with something always happening to watch. I’ll be back at this marvelous place for the friendly, honest, helpful people who are always ready to help.

Right in central Cairo, this is a very good hotel. My room was comfortable and clean, with a nice view of Talaat Harb street.

Mostafa was helpful from the moment I checked in. He’s always smiling, easy to approach, and happy to assist or share feedback. If you’re visiting from abroad, that adds a lot to the stay. The owner works as a tour guide, so you might get to meet him if he’s around. The hostel has a good breakfast, and don’t miss Mustafa's Omelet. There’s a small but decent dining area where you can eat or work quietly using the free WIFI, plus a great balcony view from there. Restaurants, clothing shops, markets, and other places are all within walking distance. You get a king bed, private WC, and separate AC that you can control yourself. Thank you for making my stay comfortable and unforgettable.
