Rocketa Hotel

The views are breathtaking, and the hotel feels like a peaceful little retreat. The rooms are refined but still make you feel at home, a lovely place to spend time in comfort.

The staff were polite and welcoming, and the location is handy, close to the Old German Bakery. The beachfront seating area is lovely, though swimming there isn't really possible because it's rocky and the beach mostly vanishes with the tides. The pool looked alright, but I didn't try it because the general hygiene left me unsure it was clean. The rooms and bathrooms were the biggest problem. The rooms are very old, the beds squeak whenever you move, and the sheets, pillowcases and duvet looked dirty, with cigarette burns on them. The Sharp AC barely worked, so we were hot most of the time. Even the old clothes hanger had a random bit of foil on it, making the neglect obvious. The bathroom had a grimy old shower curtain, very poor water pressure, and the water was cut off twice during our five-night stay. There was a broken floor mop, no proper soap, bad ventilation and nowhere suitable for toilet paper. The showerhead also looked like it hadn't been changed in years. We were initially told the wrong checkout time and had to check it twice more, so the staff didn't seem on the same page about that, though otherwise they were nice. For what I paid, I could have stayed elsewhere and had a much better time. The hotel has potential, but it feels like the owners aren't putting money into renovation and upkeep, whether from laziness or being too focused on money.

We had a comfortable room and the AC kept it cool. The hotel is quiet, but still within walking distance of everything. It's right by the beach, where you can swim, snorkel, or relax in the cozy beach tent. The staff were friendly, attentive and easy to reach. We stayed five nights and wished we could've made it ten. Best hotel in Dahab!

It's frustrating because the location is nice and the staff are good, but guest comfort doesn't seem to matter to them. Construction and maintenance started at 7 am during my last vacation, with pointless knocking and hammering while people were still asleep. It was much too early and made the whole stay a disaster. I'm really sad and frustrated by the experience.
