Surfers Lounge Dahab Lagoon

After days of diving, the pool and chill-out area were a great place to come back to and relax. The apartment had comfy beds, air conditioning, Netflix, plenty of space, and a brilliant cooking unit. Daniel was helpful from booking and gave advice and arranged an airport transfer. Once we arrived, Ibrahim quickly answered our questions. Dahab is a brilliant town, and this was a perfect base for enjoying it.

We paid more for this stay than for anywhere else we visited in Egypt, and the property didn't come close to feeling worth that price. The listing also gave us the wrong impression: it turned out to be an old hostel split into separate apartments. There was very little privacy, with people constantly coming and going. Near the entrance, men gathered and smoked, and the smell lingered. It was especially strong in the bungalow, where the room, towels, and sheets all smelled of smoke. The rooftop could be a nice space, but it had cigarette ends and litter. In the bathroom, old plaster was stuck to the glass of one shower. The beds were uncomfortable and made it hard to sleep well. Better cleaning, more privacy, and somewhere to smoke away from the main living areas would help.

We stayed in a lovely two-bedroom apartment on the edge of town. It was quiet there, but still an easy walk into town, and the beds could be set up as doubles or twins. You can tell a lot of work has gone into the property, and the pool was sparkling clean. Breakfast was lovely, the rooftop view was fabulous, and the WiFi worked brilliantly. Right in town, Surfer-Lounge-Dahab feels like a quiet little oasis, with privacy just steps from the ocean. The lagoon is within walking distance, and you can watch both sunrise and sunset from the rooftop. Inside, the Bedouin tent is super cozy, the rooms are well equipped, and there's a pool to jump into. I'd happily recommend staying here.
