Hyatt Centric Cairo West

We were new to the area by the Giza Pyramids, and the concierge and driver made exploring feel easy with their useful local suggestions. The Guest Experience Manager, Ms. Moroz, also made a good impression by asking for our feedback herself at checkout. It felt thoughtful, and we were glad we could speak openly, including about the coffee, which fell short of the otherwise delicious breakfast and its wide choice of fresh food. A little more staff training could help with that. Our room was spotless, the bedding was very comfortable, the gym was well equipped, and the hotel had everything we needed. We stayed at the start of January and felt looked after from the moment we arrived.

We’re grateful to Mary Boles at reception, who was so kind and helpful and found us the best offers at a special price. The hotel has a really distinctive design, and everyone treated us so nicely. We loved staying here and hope to come back.

The heated pool was a favorite with our son, and the lifeguard was so kind, even giving our 8-year-old a few swimming tips that helped his confidence. My husband loved the modern, high-quality gym equipment, easily among the best hotel gyms we’ve seen. Breakfast had something for all of us, including a teenager and a young child. The woman at the egg station was especially lovely, and we appreciated being able to order tea at the table. We got two clean, comfortable, well-maintained rooms facing the pool after an easy check-in. Amira Muhammad, who worked on our floor, was attentive and did a great job with our requests. The hotel is in a modern new development, a little away from the city center, but the Pyramids and GEM museum are an easy 15-20 minutes away. We arrived on Christmas Day and enjoyed the festive decorations; we also learned that Christmas in Egypt is celebrated on 7th January. The staff were welcoming throughout, and we’d definitely return.

The staff were attentive and clearly tried hard to help us. When we were injured by an exposed nail on the stairs in our studio suite, the hotel did what it could to accommodate us and moved us to a one-floor premium suite. The original suite had the bedroom upstairs, cheap furniture, and just one chair at the table. Its veranda, advertised with a pyramid view, was a small bare space with no chairs or table; the view itself was distant and only useful for taking pictures with a good phone camera. Breakfast also felt chaotic, with groups eating before tours and just one coffee machine and no table service. The Centric was a subpar stay for us. A few years ago I stayed at its sister property across the street, Hyatt Regency Cairo West, and found it much more upscale for about the same price.
