Aqua Palms Resort

A good, quiet resort that seems suited to longer stays. It's well maintained and has a large pool, with the option to visit and spend time at infinity resort and tropical resort. There are two good restaurants and two supermarkets. Most residents here are foreigners.

Really nice spot, and there's a market here too.

I stayed for three months and had a great time. The staff were hard to beat, and the on-site general store had everything I needed. If something wasn't there, the owner would get it if you asked. My villa was spotless and furnished and decorated very comfortably. It had a big bed, good-sized TVs in both the living room and bedroom, and a roomy balcony overlooking the Red Sea. You could step out to it from either the living room or bedroom. The pool area was clean and comfortable, with waterfalls you could stand under for a massage while in the water.

We arrived after midnight needing somewhere to stay for three nights because our flights had been cancelled and the next one was due then. The setting felt isolated, with poor street lighting, the main road far away and no one around. There was no security at the front desk, so anyone could get into the apartments. We felt exposed and frightened from the start. The room was meant to sleep all eight of us, but it was filthy and unhygienic. The furniture and interior were in bad shape, the bathroom was dirty and the shower broken. We were told the sofa bed slept one, but it was in an awful state, and there was a foul smell throughout the room. We also had a child with a fever, and the situation made things worse. The kids were scared and wanted to go home. We asked the manager to move us because of the condition of the room. The only alternative was on the fifth floor, on the terrace, and was in even worse condition, with no safety up there. Given how unsafe and vulnerable we felt, we decided to stay one night and leave first thing in the morning. It was already 2 am, and the children were exhausted and hungry, with no shops nearby. We cancelled the booking with Aqua palms and were due to pay £59.84 for one night. We explained everything to the manager, who said that would be okay and let us return to the room. We had started settling down when loud banging on the door frightened us. The manager said we had to pay for all three nights or leave immediately. We tried to explain, but he wouldn't listen, and his behaviour caused us nothing but distress. By around 03:00 am we were terrified, especially as we were with children and had no support nearby. An employee followed us back to the room while we packed. We shut the door for privacy so we could get the children up and finish packing, but he abruptly opened it without our consent to pressure us to hurry. It was awful, and the children are still mentally affected by what happened. I would never recommend this place. Everything about the experience was awful, and we got no apology for the service.
