Coral Sea Sensatori Resort

We visited in February with our 4-year-old son. The food was excellent, with a varied menu that rotated enough that we never felt we were eating the same thing twice. The beach was well maintained. There are rocks at the water’s edge, but a sandy path of about a metre makes it easy to get in, and we had no trouble going barefoot. The pier was shorter than others we’ve seen, and sea access was great. The marine life was breathtaking. None of us had a stomach upset. The large number of small water bottles felt excessive. A refillable dispenser would help cut down on single-use plastic. I did appreciate that bedding and towels weren’t changed every day unless requested, a meaningful sustainability step for a large hotel. Blackout curtains and dimmable lights were useful too. Breakfast started early, which was a lifesaver with a little one up at the crack of dawn. When we asked for a quieter room, they moved us and we weren’t disturbed. The place was spotlessly clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly and always went above and beyond. It’s a fantastic hotel we’d happily return to. The airport was the real downside and an ordeal in itself. Allow at least one to two hours on both arrival and departure.

A drawback for some may be that most guests are British, so the kids’ club and entertainment are almost entirely in English. That could be a plus for some, but it’s worth considering before booking. Another frustration was people claiming sunbeds early in the morning with towels and not showing up for several hours. Beach staff often turned a blind eye, and it made finding a free spot difficult even when many loungers looked occupied. Otherwise, my stay at Coral Sea Sensatori was definitely positive. The resort is impeccably clean, in the rooms and shared areas alike, and everything is carefully maintained. Food quality was more than satisfactory, with fresh ingredients, a wide choice, and well-organized buffets. The food is international, though, so if you expect traditional Italian dishes with perfectly al dente pasta, this may not be the right place for you. Staff, from the restaurant to housekeeping, were welcoming, helpful, and ready to assist. The beach is beautiful and well cared for. Alongside the pier, there are sandy channels for direct beach access, which is handy if you’d rather avoid the pier or enjoy the sea more comfortably.

We especially enjoyed the pools and the beach, along with the quality of the service. The food was delicious and there was plenty of variety, and the atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. Coral Sea Sensatori is a beautiful, very clean hotel, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. We had an amazing stay and would definitely love to come back. The bedrooms and bathrooms feel dated and would benefit from a refurbishment. Still, this is a beautiful place to spend a week or two, and the hotel is kept clean and tidy. There’s a wide choice of excellent food, with each restaurant feeling different, and the service is outstanding overall. A swim-up room is handy, with a pool right at your doorstep. If you stay here, make use of the hotel’s own jetty for snorkelling.
