Island View’s location is acceptable, but my stay was a major letdown. I wouldn’t recommend it. The food was low quality, service was poor, the beach experience unpleasant, and the entertainment weak. I honestly don’t understand the five star rating. Even three stars would be generous. The beach lifeguard was aggressive and disrespectful, raising his voice at guests instead of handling things calmly. It made the beach feel tense and unwelcoming. The so-called animation team was disappointing too. They clearly favored foreign guests, and their dull, poorly done activities and shows offered little or no real entertainment. The food was one of the biggest disappointments. Many dishes were bland or barely edible, and there was no real variety. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner felt the same day after day. After a few days, we stopped eating at the hotel and went elsewhere to escape the repetitive, tasteless options. Restaurant staff seemed unfriendly and unhelpful when we asked basic questions. Cleanliness was unacceptable: tables were often left dirty, with leftover food like eggs on chairs and tables. It gave the impression that hygiene and guest satisfaction weren’t priorities. I don’t usually write critical reviews, but this stay was disappointing enough that I felt it was worth mentioning.

The resort has a very good location, plenty of green space, a spacious layout, direct access to the sea, and a pleasant beach. But the place is old and heavily worn. The rooms are large yet extremely outdated and overused. The bathroom was in particularly poor shape, with an impractical shower and water temperature that was hard to control. The rooms didn’t meet five star standards. Food was another major disappointment. During a whole week, the only reliably edible options were two similar rice dishes. There was little variety, flavor, or quality, and the salad bar was very weak. After I published my review, I went to reception only to ask for late check-out because my flight was late that evening. They sent me to the hotel manager. He asked me to follow him, and the conversation quickly felt confrontational, more like an interrogation than a professional discussion. I felt expected to justify my review. He began speaking Russian. I understand Russian, but can’t express myself clearly in it during a serious conversation, so I replied in English and explained that my review reflected factual observations and the hotel as I experienced it. I was told to delete the review. The manager offered to reduce the late check-out fee from the standard 65 USD to 35 USD, with a stay until 8:00 PM and food included, on the condition that I remove it. After a call to someone higher up, with an aggressive tone, body language, and repeated references to “Rixos”, I was told I’d pay the full price and that at this price level I shouldn’t have expectations. I paid the full standard fee of 65 USD. The price itself isn’t my concern, it’s the attempt to pressure a guest to remove an honest review. I also bought a spa package for myself and my child, with five 50-minute massages and access to the sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. Later, I saw the same service offered to another guest for 10 USD less. When I pointed this out, the response was defensive. The 10 USD difference was returned, and I left it as a tip for the massage therapist. I have receipts for both the spa services and the late check-out payment. My issue is the lack of transparent pricing, consistency, and professional conduct. I consulted a local tourism professional afterward. They said there are more consistent hotel chains in Egypt with better value and service, such as Jaz, Sunrise, and Pickalbatros. Regarding the management response, I’d ask readers to follow the events in order rather than assume intent. If I’d wanted pressure or leverage, accepting the discount would have made sense. I didn’t accept it. I paid the full late check-out fee, despite the proposed goodwill option. Someone seeking an advantage wouldn’t turn down a reduction and then pay the full amount. Goodwill gestures are usually meant to address dissatisfaction, not alleged pressure. Declining one isn’t insistence. It’s a boundary, especially when the offer had nothing to do with the issues in my review: old rooms, poor food, and facilities inconsistent with a five star classification. My review remains unchanged because it reflects what I experienced. I didn’t request or accept services in exchange for removing it. Readers can draw their own conclusions from the sequence.

The beach lifeguard was loud, aggressive, and rude. He shouted at guests over things he could have explained respectfully, making the beach feel unpleasant. The animation team didn’t feel like an animation team at all. They treated foreigners better than Egyptians, and their lame shows and activities weren’t entertaining. The food was one of the worst parts of our stay. Most of it was bland or outright inedible, and the menu had no variety. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner seemed to repeat the same dishes each day. By the third day we’d stopped eating at the hotel and started finding restaurants outside. Restaurant staff were rude and dismissive when we asked simple questions. They didn’t clean the tables properly, and leftover eggs were on the tables and chairs. It felt like they didn’t care about cleanliness or customer service. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my stay at island view was so underwhelming that I felt I had to share. I don’t know how this is considered a 5 star hotel. 3 stars is more than enough. It may have a decent location, but with the bad food, unpleasant beach, rude and unhygienic restaurant staff, and lame animation team, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The room was in unacceptable condition. Its furniture was old, worn, and often damaged, and it clearly hadn’t been maintained properly. It fell short of the basic comfort and cleanliness I’d expect from a hotel in this category. The food throughout my stay was extremely poor, lacking variety, freshness, and basic hygiene. Several times it was undercooked or overcooked, and some dishes seemed to be reheated leftovers. I was also disappointed by the behavior of some staff. Many came across as unhelpful and unfriendly, and at times rude. They added to my frustration instead of offering assistance. I’m writing to express how dissatisfied I was with my stay at Island View Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh. It fell short in several important areas and left me very disappointed, especially given the hotel’s reputation and rating. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that the quality of services and facilities improves.

Please be aware, this is not a 5 star resort. It was a bad trip and wasn’t going to be good. There’s no Wi-Fi service in the rooms, and no soft drinks at all, even with a VIP or Premium reservation. Everything else is as you see in the photos 📸 Google G
