The bed bugs were the main problem. At first I thought the bites might be mosquitoes, even though I’d used room and skin repellent from the first day. Then I woke up on several mornings with more clusters of bites. Mosquitoes bite randomly, not in clusters. I stay in after sunset, go to dinner, then return with the balcony doors shut, so I think the chance they were mosquito bites was very slim. When I told management, I found five men in my room turning over the mattresses. I saw what looked like remains of bed bugs, as in the photos. They crowded around me and aggressively insisted they were mosquito bites. Then they said they’d move me immediately, and a manager came in and took the same pictures I had. There were problems from the start. The first room’s balcony door wouldn’t lock. Staff said they couldn’t fix it until morning and told me not to worry, that nobody would take my things while I went to dinner. I refused to leave until maintenance secured it, and they eventually offered another room, which I accepted. In that room the bath plug wouldn’t hold water, and after I went to breakfast, I returned to find the bathroom flooded by the toilet. I left a Trustpilot review, and the manager apologized and offered a voucher for one of their nearby restaurants, for water and soft drinks only. Then he asked if I could delete the bad review. It felt like an attempt to be nice so I’d remove it. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I even considered finding an earlier flight home so I wouldn’t have to stay another moment. The entertainment and music are all in Russian, which doesn’t cater well to British guests.
