Porto Sharm Hotel Apartments

The room was shocking as soon as we walked in. There was dust, dirt and stains everywhere, and it was clear it hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. The sheets looked filthy, had visible marks and smelled unpleasant. It was so bad I didn’t even feel comfortable looking at them to take pictures. There wasn’t even a basic roll of toilet paper. The bathroom was dirty, in terrible condition and smelled bad. We also found insects in the room. The hygiene was completely unacceptable, and we left after only a few hours because it didn’t feel safe or sanitary to stay. This is without a doubt the most disgusting place I’ve ever stayed. I strongly advise people to avoid it. It isn’t worth the cost, stress or health risks. Don’t be fooled by the exterior.

The hotel is a long way from the city center, and the room was terrible. There was no water in the room on my first day, and there were no towels or anything else. While I was sleeping, I heard water running loudly. When I checked, a valve was open, and by the second day my room was full of water. There was no Wi-Fi either. I told reception about these problems, but they ignored me and did nothing. The conditions were horrible. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Please don’t book it, I’m sure you’ll regret it.

At Porto Sharm, I felt humiliated and discriminated against as an Egyptian. When I first arrived to visit some foreign friends, the staff treated me with shocking disrespect and questioned me just because I was Egyptian. They told me I couldn’t enter because I was Egyptian and my friends were foreigners. My friends had rented a chalet and invited me. I explained this and even called the owner, who confirmed visitors were allowed, but the staff still refused and kept saying it was impossible for me to visit foreigners there. After wasting time arguing, I decided to rent my own chalet. Then they suddenly said I could enter only if I paid a 2000 EGP deposit. Even with that, I wasn’t allowed to interact with my friends or enter their chalet, and they couldn’t visit mine. It was absurd and insulting. My friends are a large family from Chile, and there was nothing inappropriate or suspicious about my visit. I only wanted to give them a good experience in Sharm El Sheikh, as I had in Cairo. Instead, I was treated like a criminal in my own country, and they started to hate Egypt because of it. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had in Egypt. Porto Sharm should be ashamed of how it treats Egyptians and makes guests feel like suspects. I’d never recommend it to anyone, Egyptian or foreign, who values respect, fairness or basic hospitality.
