Old Vic Sharm Resort

The place was clean, the food decent, and the staff were fantastic, friendly, supportive, and happy to help. The rooms were okay, though we had some trouble with the TV, and the WiFi was a real pain because it kept needing to be reinstalled. Restaurant hours could be better. Still, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend it for a short, good-value getaway.

The food was average, and some days it seemed like they were serving leftovers from the day before. The alcohol was very bad. Rooms were dirty and in terrible shape: broken windows let in street noise, light bulbs weren't replaced, and the key cards for the doors didn't work. Plates and cups were dirty or broken too. One time the barman was drinking at the bar and even vomited on the floor. Don't take a taxi from the hotel, it costs five times more. Use the InDrive app instead.

The rooms are old, with worn furniture and beds, and the toilet wasn't clean. They only cleaned the room after I went to reception to ask. Staff seemed to expect tips, while anything outside the all-inclusive package, including beer, was expensive, and the included drinks were terrible. There was no WiFi either. Breakfast was the same each morning, with no dishes or napkins on the table. Lunch and dinner were a little better, and the soup was good, but getting a spoon took ages. Some food was cold or undercooked. Service was awful, and the male waiters spoke no English and only a little Russian. They were always arguing with each other and were aggressive when clearing tables. This place shouldn't even be on Google Maps. Horrible.

The pools were lovely, and we got a fresh towel each day. Our original room faced a strange alley where bottles were rattled around at all hours, so paying $6 per night for a pool-facing room was definitely worth it. The rooms are huge, though ours wasn't the cleanest, and the staff were friendly. All-inclusive was okay, but wine wasn't part of it, and you couldn't have an alcoholic drink with meals, which felt odd. Drinks were hit and miss, service started at 11am, and the bar would sometimes close without warning during the day. It was a nice four-night break, but I wouldn't return.
