Sharm Reef Hotel

The rooms, in particular, felt neglected and poorly maintained, and if yours faces the road, expect a lot of traffic noise until about 1 a.m. There's a wide food selection, but it all tastes much the same. That's a shame, since the restaurant is otherwise decent. Sharm Reef Hotel has a lovely pool area and incredibly helpful staff. I stayed in room 115. Reviewed on January 2, 2026.

We arrived yesterday for our second stay, and we're here for 33 days this time. I love this place, with its big pools, lively people and caring staff.

I thought the hotel was beautiful and just perfect. Everyone was sweet, respectful and funny, and I really liked it. The activities were fun even though I didn't always understand the language, since I only speak English and danish. Loka, Bebo and Niko were especially great entertainers, and were there for people when they needed someone.

I'm writing this as a serious warning. I'm a 33-year-old woman and stayed at Sharm Reef Hotel with my mum. The hotel may look fine on the surface, but my experience with the animation team was deeply concerning and left me feeling unsafe. The animators seemed friendly at first. Ziad invited me clubbing and said £25 would cover a taxi both ways, entry and one free drink. I paid in advance. Around 11:30 p.m., Ziad picked me up with four other hotel guests. At the club I got one free drink, then bought two more. I also offered to buy Ziad drinks, although animators aren't supposed to drink because they're responsible for guests. During the night, Ziad repeatedly urged me to go outside the club and speak with his friends. I didn't initially see a problem because he seemed friendly. He also told me another hotel guest wanted to sleep with me, which made me uncomfortable, so I distanced myself from the group and stayed near him instead. After a few drinks, I felt extremely unwell and wanted to leave. The taxi rank was right outside, but Ziad had me walk around 10 minutes to get a taxi. Another man, who I believe was a promoter, insisted I withdraw cash from an ATM even though the fare and entry had already been paid. Soon after getting into the taxi I felt sick, got out briefly to vomit, then fell asleep. The trip back should have taken less than 20 minutes, but I woke up in a parked taxi somewhere I didn't know. I checked my things straight away. My bank card was missing, along with both Cartier bracelets, which I've worn continuously for two years and need a key to remove. My bank account showed transactions I didn't recognize beyond the drinks and ATM withdrawal. When I confronted Ziad, he first said I'd probably lost the card at the club. That seemed impossible because cash had been withdrawn after we'd left. Things got heated. I insisted he had the card, and he walked away briefly before returning with it. The next morning, Ziad and another animator messaged to ask if I was okay. I asked what had happened between 3 a.m., when we left the club, and 5 a.m., when I got back to my room, and demanded my bracelets and money back. They were never returned. I was told I'd been too drunk and must have lost them, and that we'd gone back to the club to look for the card. That explanation doesn't make sense to me, especially as the club closes at 2:30 a.m. and the withdrawal happened outside the venue. I felt vulnerable, misled and unsafe, and I'm disturbed by what happened. I worry about what might have happened if I hadn't woken up in that taxi. Another guest said he thought his drink may have been spiked at the club a couple of nights earlier. I wonder whether that happened to me too, as I'd had only a small amount of alcohol but felt unusually ill, vomited and suddenly fell asleep. I have no concrete evidence that my drink was spiked. Please be extremely cautious. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend the hotel, particularly because of serious concerns about guest safety, especially for women.
