Los Olivos 13 - One Bed

My sister and I had a really lovely stay and would definitely recommend it. The location was great, close to everything we needed, and staff were always kind and helpful. The multiple pools had plenty of free sunbeds, and the sky bar with its glass pool was a huge highlight for us. The room was clean, and cleaners came often to change the bedding and refresh towels. It was quite humid and hard to cool down, though we were out most of the day anyway. The food was mostly okay, but could have been a little better. We’d 100% come back.

We had a lovely 4 night stay in a clean, nice junior suite, and the breakfast was good with plenty to choose from. The location was ideal, near the beach and lots of bars and restaurants. Reception staff were fine, including the bald man with glasses that some reviews called rude. Maybe it was someone else, or someone had spoken to him. The one problem was a woman at the pool bar. She was vaping outside, and when several of us came up, she and another staff member ignored us for about 5/10 mins. Then she shouted that she was on her break, rolled her eyes, and clearly complained about us. There was no sign saying she was on break, and she could have put the shutters down. It put us off going back to her, and I heard others say the same. That’s why I’ve taken off a star for service. Otherwise, no complaints.

The only real plus was the huge, very comfortable bed. We paid £2500, and this place was awful. On arrival, the reception guy wasn’t helpful and just handed us a map. The room was very outdated, with a table coming away from the wall, cracked plaster, and a ripped curtain. To get WiFi we had to scan a QR code and join a WhatsApp service to request things like fresh towels, a bed change, or cleaning. Requests were handled quickly, but only when we asked, not as a regular service. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned once during our 2 weeks. The pool area was poorly maintained, with full bins and parasols tossed on the floor. We walked through to the other complex, which was clean and inviting by comparison. When we checked under the bed as we were leaving, we found at least an inch of dust. The beds clearly hadn’t been moved for months.

The location is great and the design is nice, but the hotel hasn’t been maintained well. The rooms and bathrooms were dirty, both room sinks were completely clogged, and there were lots of ants on the floor in the living room and bedroom.
