The owner’s handling of our stay overshadowed the lovely setting. Rafel never greeted or acknowledged us during our three nights. Before we arrived, he suggested booking directly to avoid booking.com fees, then didn’t answer our follow-up emails. In one brief reply, he said our reservation wasn’t a priority because he had to attend to his cattle, and said he’d reimburse the fee difference during our stay. Though he was on the property, he avoided us. At checkout, after we asked staff to speak with him, he said he’d been tired and busy and showed no concern. He never reimbursed us. Turmaden itself is a peaceful rural retreat. The renovated farmhouse is well maintained and beautifully decorated, and the gardens and pool have lovely views over the landscape. Breakfast was delicious, with local products brought to us by friendly staff.

We had lovely morning chats with Rafel, the owner, who shared helpful tips for enjoying Menorca, including beaches and restaurants. Breakfast was great, with local products. The place sits on a beautiful hill with views over the nearby countryside. Rafael’s enthusiasm for his project helped make our stay worthwhile. The staff were cheerful and helpful, and breakfast was next level, with local products. The room had a warm, lovely design, and the house is a rural building given an impressive biocontruction upgrade. It sits on a very quiet, green hillock. Turmadèn feels both real and unique.
