The apartment's location made getting around easy, with shops, bars, restaurants and the marina nearby. We use the trams whenever we're in Alicante, and there's a stop by the marina. We also like taking tram 5 to Londres for San Jaun Playa, then having a sunny drink at Montaditos on the promenade. From Mercado, you can take the tram to lots of places, all the way to Benidorm. Inside, the apartment was spacious, with a comfortable big sofa bed, TV, dining table and chairs. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a washing machine. The bedroom had a very comfortable bed, lovely-smelling bedding, plenty of wardrobe space, a large mirror, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. I appreciated the walk-in shower because I'm disabled, and there's a lift to every floor. Jose Luis was a wonderful host, sharing useful information and Google Maps for restaurants, bars and places to visit before we arrived and throughout our stay. I had a confirmed booking through booking.com, but was told on the final day of my trip that the apartment wasn't available. Earlier, he had asked me on WhatsApp to pay in advance by bank transfer, which booking.com said was against its policy and told him wasn't OK. Booking.com found me somewhere else, thankfully, but the whole thing was a horrible experience.

The views from both the room and the rooftop are great, and I'd happily stay here again. Bars and cafes are right downstairs, a grocery store is about a seven-minute walk away, and the beach takes around ten minutes on foot. Michael met me at the entrance when I arrived and showed me to my room. It had everything I needed except an iron. I think you have to request one in the booking details.

We always feel welcome at Santa Barbara Guesthouse, largely because the host is so friendly and always smiling. The apartment itself is lovely, spotlessly clean and has everything you need. Its location is perfect, close to the beach and restaurants. It's a shame we can only give five stars, we'd definitely give it ten!

Michael is a lovely host, and the location is fabulous. The rooftop terrace is unbelievable. My only complaint, if I'm being picky, is that the bed was too hard for us.
