B&B Hotel Alicante

The rooms need renovating and don't look like the pictures. At 7am, people were drinking viski in the lobby and behind the breakfast tables, and a dog was running around in the restorante. While I was eating, a staff member tried twice to take my food away. Breakfast was very light, with just one small sausage left at 8.30 am. Dinner in the restorante was low to medium quality.

We had a car, so the location worked for us, though it’s too far to walk into Alicante. The nearby C6 bus takes about 20 minutes to the city centre. Our room was a good size with a lovely sea view, and there was plenty of free parking on site. The price made for a reasonable stay, but the welcome was poor, as the young woman at reception hardly spoke to us. The lift was out of order, so we had to use a service lift in an unlit area where the call button was impossible to see, with lots of trolleys to get around. There was no kettle in the room. The free hot drinks machine in reception only had cardboard cups, which weren't convenient for carrying drinks back. We ate at the restaurant the first night, where the service was painfully slow and the food burnt. The next night we went to the Ibis kitchen next door and had great food and excellent service. If you have time, visit the old town and the nativity in town hall square, 17 meters high and the biggest nativity in the world. Mushroom street is a fun road too.

It was an easy, good value stay, with friendly staff, clean rooms, and windows that open. There’s a large car park, and they serve evening meals. The free tea and coffee station was handy. A bus right outside costs 1.45 euros, or a taxi into Alicante city center is 8 euros.

Between a friend and me, we’ve stayed at this hotel three times, in summer, fall, and winter. I had my stay in summer. I found cockroaches in my room and was moved four times. Two rooms had bugs, one had a clogged toilet and stained sheets, and the last had a foul toilet smell. That smell was in every room, though worse in some, and I eventually left. The location isn’t the most convenient, but it’s not too far from the center. The front desk was nice about changing rooms, and they seemed used to it. The cleanliness, though, was horrific. My friend stayed twice, once in February and once in October of 2025. Her February stay was just okay, but the bathroom smell was still there. On her November visit, she found multiple ticks in the room. There were also many more smokers, and a bug spray or chemical smell gave her headaches. Based on what we experienced, I can’t in good faith recommend this hotel. There seems to be something wrong with the sewers and multiple bug infestations. I’m convinced the 5 star reviews are bought and a lie.
