El Alamo Hotel

I was very disappointed. The rooms are basic, which I already knew when I booked, but nobody mentioned the bathroom mould. I also had to go to reception and ask whenever I needed a hairdryer. Later that evening I requested a second towel and was told it would cost €5. Towels are changed every two days, and there wasn't even a floor towel for the shower. With so few amenities, I can't see how they can charge more than €100 for a double room in May. The customer service was terrible, and I'm not coming back.

The staff were friendly and the location was good, but everything else was terrible. The bathroom is tiny and has no shower curtain, so water gets all over the place. There's nowhere to put shampoo or soap, or to hang clothes and towels properly. I don't recommend it and won't return.

The staff were extremely friendly and polite, and it's a good hotel. The location is quite noisy, and there were only two sockets in our room, one next to the bed and another above the TV. One thing to know: reception asks to see the card number used for the reservation. That's a first for me.

The hotel is clean but basic, and some rooms haven't been updated. They're adequate if all you need is somewhere to sleep. Our group found the mattresses quite hard, there was only Spanish TV in the rooms, and breakfast was just a croissant and coffee with no other options. Even so, we had a lovely stay. The main draw is the location: central, close to the port, and within easy walking distance of the main attractions.
