El Plantio Golf Resort

Our apartment had plenty of room for five and everything we needed. It could be made even better with a small shop for basic supplies. The location suits a quiet, relaxing break, though Alicante itself is a 10-15 minute drive away. We stayed five nights with my family and enjoyed the holiday. Breakfast had lots of pastries, fruit, meats, cheeses, and bread. The restaurant isn’t very big, so you might need to sit outside if you don’t get there early. The outdoor tables and chairs could be wiped more often. Martin the waiter was patient, kind, and understanding, a real credit to the place. Some breakfast staff came across as abrupt, and maybe a little rude at times. We’d definitely return for a short break.

Breakfast alone makes it worth coming. You can enjoy peace, comfort, and keep your sanity while still being near “civilization,” if that’s what you’re after. It’s a must. And that goes whether you like your walks interrupted by a hard plastic ball or not. Truly recommended.

After more than an exhausting hour at reception with our three tired, cranky young children, we were finally let into the room. It was already set up for all five of us, baby cot included, so the demand for extra money made no sense. We’d arrived very late after booking a room for five and had confirmed two days earlier that everything, including the cot, would be ready. Yet they asked us to pay twice the room rate, claiming their system only showed two guests, even though the booking clearly listed five. It felt like they were taking advantage of how tired we were. Completely unacceptable and shameful.

We had to pay €5 a day for parking because there were no spaces outside, and were charged for four days for two cars. Only the next day did someone tell us there was free parking beside the resort. The parking situation is a real problem. The apartments had everything we needed and were especially clean inside, though the balcony wasn’t really cleaned. The location is great, and the staff are friendly.
