The guesthouse itself is good, but getting in was a stressful mess. I’d said in my reservation that I’d arrive at 10 and wanted to leave my luggage. The manager said that was fine, but when I got there nobody answered the phone or my calls to the guesthouse. With no information, I spent four hours waiting outside, unsure whether I actually had a place to stay, then went looking for another hostel because I was so confused and stressed. Luckily, a tourist coming out gave me the reception number. I called several times without an answer, then finally got through at 12:30. He told me to come in, and I got my keys. The confusion was about being told I could arrive at any time.

My second stay here and everything was good again. The room, bathroom, and AC were clean, and the staff are friendly and speak good English. They also arranged a taxi for me early in the morning.

It’s a low-budget hostel, but it has a homely feel, and I was very happy with my stay. The man running it was especially helpful and such a nice person. After checking out in the morning, I came back in the evening to collect my things and change before my trip. He even let me use the shower and facilities and gave me towels, all at no extra charge. He really knows how to run a business and treat people well, which isn’t always common.

The location was great and the owner was nice, but there was mold in the room and it made it hard to breathe. There wasn’t a window, so I had to keep turning on the air conditioner.

I stayed one night while passing through Alicante, and it was perfectly alright. The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean enough, and the AC was a big plus. The bathrooms were fine too. I’d recommend it for a night or two.
