The room was clean and had the basic amenities you'd expect for the price. It's in a lively area with lots of bars and restaurants, close to the beach, and the manager was reachable and helped when needed, even though this is basically a self-service place, not a hotel. The room beside reception on the second floor was very noisy, with no soundproofing, and the windows faced an internal area that was very dark. They could do something to improve the sound insulation.

The hosts made us feel well looked after from arrival through checkout. They were welcoming, responsive, and helpful. Luces de Catedral was also spotless, comfortable, well equipped, and clearly well cared for, with good value for money. It's right in central Alicante, beside the Cathedral and close to restaurants, shops, and the old town, while still quiet enough for a comfortable stay. We'd gladly come back and recommend it to people visiting Alicante.

I stayed for two days in mid-January 2026, and the location was the standout, right in the middle of Alicante's restaurant district. The room felt like an apartment, with a kitchenette, a large bathroom, and two separate bedrooms. Each had a comfortable double bed, and one also had a sofa and TV. A good choice for a short or longer stay if you want to be in exactly the right part of Alicante.

The location was unbelievable, and the cooking facilities and little fridge were adequate. The room had lovely details, high ceilings, a luxurious feel, and a beautiful big shuttered window. I only missed having a mirror outside the bathroom. Great place, highly recommend.

We didn't even stay the night. The room looked different from the pictures, and the interior was in poor shape, with bad sound insulation and maintenance problems. The toilet kept running and refilling every 2-3 minutes, the taps were loose, and there were no proper curtains. We arrived before 1500h, when reception should have been staffed, but nobody was there. Hard to understand the other high reviews.
