Pension Arena Alicante

Apartment 6, third floor. The building is nicely renovated, and the apartment is spacious with new furniture. The bedroom and bathroom were very nice too. The location is excellent, just a few minutes from Explanade, Alicante Market, and the bus and railway stations. Communication was the main problem. I only got the key collection instructions while I was already on the plane to ALC, despite messaging the host beforehand. Replies to our questions took 24-36 hours, which felt very disrespectful. The living room AC didn't work, one window wouldn't open, and the kitchen needed more cups, plates and cutlery. There was no coffee table in the living room, and the bedroom needed more clothes storage. We asked to check out just three hours late, but the host wanted €110 for a full extra night. We'd stayed 10 days and spent over €1,000, yet they wouldn't offer any discount or flexibility.

I turned up without a reservation and got the last single room. So far, the room has been fine: clean, and the air conditioning works, which were my main priorities. The woman at reception was awesome. When she saw I was struggling, she spoke extra slowly and helped me understand while I practised my Spanish. Thanks so much 🙂

We chose the hotel for one night because we had an early appointment in Alicante, and I was pleasantly surprised after seeing its mixed reviews. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and it wasn't noisy at all. The location is excellent, and the woman at reception was really helpful and friendly. There's no lift, but our room was only on the second floor.

I had a single room on the third floor with a window. It was quiet and super clean, and the fan was much appreciated. There's a fridge too, so it's great value. Totally recommend it, and I'd come back.
