S30 Reina Victoria Suites

It was generally clean and not too far from the city centre, but the quality wasn’t as high as I’d hoped. There were no mirrors in the apartment apart from the toilet mirrors, which I really disliked. Some switches seemed to control who knows what, and the lights were so dim I struggled to see at night. The bed was two singles pushed together, which wasn’t what I wanted.

We found cockroaches in the kitchen, and the apartment clearly isn’t maintained properly. In the main bedroom, above the jacuzzi, there was a ceiling leak with visible damage already there when we arrived. We asked several times, but it took three days for someone to come and “fix” it. They patched the hole, and it started leaking again that same evening. The one good thing was the cleaning lady. She was kind, efficient and very accommodating.

The apartment was really clean and nicely decorated, and the staff were amazing, friendly and helpful with all our questions. There’s a fridge in the room with cold drinks and alcohol you can buy. We loved the showers and jacuzzi, and you can step out from the living room onto a small balcony overlooking the street. The location is great, quite close to La Rambla and the port. Breakfast is worth buying while you’re there: coffee, juice and your choice of toast or croissant. We really recommend the hotel and café. 10/10!

The staff at reception and the attached coffee shop were friendly and helpful, and communication before arrival was good. The place is close to eateries and Mercat de Alicante. Eat Greek nearby is a good option for a late-night nibble. There’s parking across the way at a very reasonable price. The property was fantastically clean, spacious, bright and well equipped, with everything we needed to be comfortable. The fridge was stocked with drinks you could buy, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. We didn’t hear any noise pollution, and the shower was fabulous. The lift felt a little claustrophobic. We’ll definitely stay again, and I can recommend it.
