The staff were helpful at check-in both days, and they’re the only reason I’d give this place a star. I’d give it zero if I could. I slept terribly on both nights, which really ruined the holiday. The first night we were on the ground floor as far from the nightclub, Sala, as possible, but the sound was still awful. It wasn’t especially loud music, but you could feel it, and the changing tracks made it impossible to tune out. The club runs from 03:30 to 06:30, and people going out to smoke didn’t seem to care that guests were trying to sleep nearby. The room itself had odd design choices too. There was no toilet roll holder, so you had to cross the bathroom to reach the paper. The shower gel dispensers couldn’t be moved, which made little sense with a bathtub in the middle of the room and no products within reach. There was no sound insulation between rooms, either. Flushing toilets and running sinks or showers from the three floors above came through very loudly. The second night was worse. We had a penthouse apartment in the middle of the building, and the bathroom smelled strongly of sewage. Maybe that was the trade-off for not hearing everyone flush. The club was still far too loud, there was a stain on the bed’s headboard and on the bath towels, and the apartment stank. The design choices throughout felt questionable and poorly thought out. I can’t tell whether the problem is limited to this building or applies to all of them, but the hotel needs serious renovation. Random fancy furniture and rose gold accents don’t make up for the quality improvements it needs.
