The location made it easy to get around and explore, and everyone I dealt with was friendly, helpful, and professional. The room was comfortable and the rest of the stay went smoothly. One detail was unpleasant: the bathroom towels had a distinct smell like tomato sauce, as if they hadn't been properly cleaned or changed. A bit more attention to fresh towels would make a real difference.

We had a lovely two-night stay in February 2026 for my husband's birthday and would love to return, even tomorrow. The port view from our balcony was beautiful day and night. The hotel sits beside the beach, near restaurants and within walking distance of Alicante's main sights; the airport bus stop is just a three-minute walk away. We went half board and really enjoyed the food. Breakfast had a great selection, fresh orange juice, and an amazing sea view. Dinner was a tasty three-course menu with a good choice and good service. The staff were very nice, especially Susana, who looked after us so well.

Juan in The Level lounge deserves a special mention. He was attentive, professional, and friendly, made the best Gin Lemon we've had, and took brilliant photos. Everyone on staff was friendly. We loved the junior suite upgrade, especially having two bathrooms, and the harbour views were incredible. The room was cleaned daily, with a lovely turndown service. The Level felt worth it, with a private lounge, happy hour drinks, tapas-style bites, and an excellent breakfast, especially the freshly made eggs benedict. The pool was best early for morning sun; for afternoon sunshine, request a harbour view room. TV connections were easy to use for a Fire Stick or other device, though Chromecast was temperamental. Melia Alicante is right by the beach and an easy walk from the city and old town. We had a fantastic stay and would happily return.

After nearly two decades, Mrs. Kull and I finally got away without the kids. This is where we'd want to live. Alicante itself is take-it-or-leave-it for me, but the hotel made it worthwhile. The views are great and the service is above par. I’m looking forward to walking up to the castle, then relaxing by a pool with NO slides, NO kids, and nobody shouting over a ludo game that's gone on too long.

The location is hard to beat, right at the port with lovely city views and everything within walking distance. Our Junior Suite was spacious, and each room had its own climate control. Those were the positives. I expected more from a top-tier Meliá and a four-star hotel costing €1,000 per person per week without all-inclusive. It looks good outside, but the hospitality was awful. Service was terrible. Staff showed little courtesy or urgency and often ignored guests. There weren't enough people at the main reception, so there were long queues for check-in, check-out, or even a basic question. At the pool towel desk, a huge line formed and staff seemed to ignore everyone. The pool area was too small for a hotel this size, and finding a sunbed was very difficult. Food and drinks involved more waiting. The pool bar queue took 15 to 20 minutes just to order, then another 10 for the drink. At the restaurant, we waited 30 to 40 minutes to be served. The in-room fridge was packed with hotel products, and we were charged if we removed anything to make room for personal items. There was no complimentary bottled water in the room and no free water dispenser on site. Wi-Fi was so poor that streaming was impossible, so I had to buy a local eSIM for usable internet. The location is unmatched, but the service and waits ruined the stay. Save your money and book elsewhere.
