TRYP Ciudad de Alicante Hotel

The room was compact, but clean and had what we needed. The hotel's location was ideal for a quick trip to the beach and town. We were woken at 7:30 each morning by workmen banging on the floor above. The hotel said the work was in the neighboring building, which owns that floor, so they couldn't control the schedule. Still, they knew about it, and I think they should have told us when we arrived or offered to move us if the noise was too much.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and our room was clean with a well-equipped bathroom. For the price, it was very good value. It's just a block from the seafront and a short walk from the Old Town (Barrio). I hope to return to Alicante, and I'd stay here again.

Breakfast was great, and the staff were very polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, though the furniture looked worn. I noticed a slight, unusual smell in both rooms I stayed in.

There was some street noise at night, which isn't surprising given how central the hotel is. It's handy for the beach, restaurants and castle, and has a good breakfast spread, a free coffee machine and really helpful staff.
